Has anyone heard of the Super Furry Animals? They're a welsh band and are pretty decent.

You must choose. It is like that movie "Sofie's Choice" only it is Nathan's choice. Do you know that movie, "Sofie's Choice"? It is like that. Only it is this.

Yes, I'm a fan. May I refer you to this thread? Or how about this one...
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

Yes. I am definitely a fan. In fact, I'd say they're one of my very favorite bands these days. Rings Around the World is one of my very favorite albums ever.

Not to attempt to cockblock the Features in any way, but if you like SFA, Amanda, you might like another band from Nashville called De Novo Dahl.
Relevant: Prince, PT Anderson, Punk, Post-Punk, Purple, Party of Five, Peter Swanson, Peter Gabriel-led Genesis, "Peter Panic", Paul's Boutique, Potential Energy, Every Features MB member but me.

Joel from DND told me they were one of his favourite bands....

I absolutely adore the super furries. They hold the record for the band I've seen most live (30+) and they rarely disappoint live and are always trying to find new and innovative ways to perform and release recordings.

The best album is (in my opinion) their debut Fuzzy Logic... but I do like the way they've matured and Cian Ciaran (keyboards/samplers/squelchy bits) has stamped his personality onto the band and turned them into what they are today.

The only disappointment for me was their Welsh language album Mwng, but I'm starting to wonder whether I gave that album a fair chance.

i do love my SFAs--while "fuzzy logic" is quite good and the first one i had, my favorite is also "rings around the world". it just sounds perfect...while we're on the subject of welsh bands, i'm also a huge fan of unfortunately-named weirdos gorky's zygotic mynci.

They're pretty fun aren't they? I think Blood Chant is my favourite song of theirs, although Yaki Da is something we can all live by. wink.gif

Of course, if we're talking Welsh bands I'd have to nod to catatonia - Cerys Matthews' voice is astounding. And now she's gone all folk-country and moved to Nashville!

"gorky 5" is my favorite album of theirs. several months ago, a couple of friends and myself went to see spiritualized in cincinatti--just before we got in our ohio-bound car, i found out gorky's was playing in athens the next evening...and so the morning after the wonderful spiritualized show, we drove all the way the hell down to georgia and saw gorky's at the legendary 40-watt club. it was totally freaking brilliant.
i'd heard cerys catatonia had moved here, to east nashville, apparently--that's madness. i hope i see her 'round.
