Well, MTSU finally did something right for once by inviting The Features to play. Outdoor shows still seem really weird to me. I guess it's because they are the complete opposite of the dark, crowded, hyperactive environments that I've become used to seeing the band at. It was a nice change of pace.

The sound job was arguably the best I've ever witnessed at a Features show. Maybe this had something to do with it being outdoors- I'm not by any means an accoustics expert. Either way, props to the sound guy. Props to Rachel too, what a great friend smile.gif.

I'm not even going to make an attempt at remembering the set-list, but the keyboards during Mosis Ptosis were incredible... I can't belive I didn't like that song at first! All-in-all, another awesome show!

I had to sell stuff during the show, but I got a really good view from the side. I was a fun change of pace to watch the crowd as well. Seeing everyone clap along is really funny. I liked all the kids that were there - I think it's cool that it can be such a family event. The weather went great as well - I thought it might rain for a minute there, but the Lords of Sunshine pulled through in the end. Thanks to everyone who came out. It's hard to argue with "free."
That's so NA.

Everything to thru "See You Thru" is correct, but then Andy the Handycam did something really weird and I had to stop taping. After that is just my memory, but I know that that is the encore that was played

This was a nice show. The outdoors-ness provided a calm atmosphere that made it safe for dogs, children, and mothers alike. I'm glad that my mom finally got to see the Features since she's been listening to them for as long as I have. I thought that the children and animals just made the atmosphere that much more playful. Very springy, very fun.

All day was a lot of fun, especially the inflatable games that were set up until the Bang-Up started. I got the crizap beat out of me by Deathscythe, but it's all good.

The Features played with a nice and subtle confidence, but they overall looked really tired. I guess being outside can do that to you. Matt also broke a total of four guitar strings, which is the most that I've ever seen. I also have to wonder where the new new songs are. All three of them were keepers and have potential; they don't need to go the way of "Failed Attempt."

Overall, it was the best school day all year that was capped by a very peaceful and enjoyable Features show.

I had a wonderful time. Best outdoor show EVER! The highlight was getting to dance with Olive during Temporary Blues. Did any of the ladies out there notice how absolutely adorable I was with those kids!?! By the way, thanks again for letting me borrow the girls, Sina. The check's in the mail.

I missed the new songs, too, but I wasn't surprised. They have a very polished set now.

Bumblebee sounds better every time they perform it.

I still don't love H2I and Whiz is Golden like everyone else. Action still sucks, too. They need to stop ending on a low note like that.

I also had a fantastic time. sportting a new haircut y'all! its completely not the same!!!
the show was really nice and relaxing. although i really really really am getting tired of this 2x2 business. ah and ill have to agree with carl on the H2I and Action not being as hot as everyone else makes it out to be. Love Is Golden, though, rocks.
Mosis Ptosis seemed to lack it's umpf last night.
Man. I wish i couldve came up and talked to you message board peoples but im just so shy. grrr social anxieties!
somebody should plan a videogame party or something like the like.

This show was definitely one that I won't forget. I had a great day all day yesterday. It was fun hanging out with all you guys!

The guys looked really tired but I am thankful that they still put on a killer show for us!!

Right now, the fact that MTSU got the features to play, is the only thing that I like about this place! What a way to end the semester.

I love outdoor shows.. and last night was the best I've been to in a long time. It was mucho fun

Matt's children are beautiful. Sina's children are beautiful. The tiny brown puppy was beautiful.

Carl, I'm fairly certain caught a glimpse of you with the little girls. It was a turn on to say the least, though a very unfair way to try to impress the ladies. Springtime puts my already-too-keen maternal instincts into overdrive. But I digress...

Still don't like "Love is Golden" ... "Action" isn't a good ending. I missed "Thursday." Oh, and I could've done without the background dancers. Everything else was an amazingly good time. None of my opinions on this are valid.

ok, this is probably just me, but Carl...cut it out, dude. everytime there's a concert review, you say this. I know that I've read something to this effect (by you) at least five or six times. there's no need to reiterate it every single time they play one of these songs. I'm sorry to sound so picky, but damn dude, you've gotten your point across plenty of times already. and from what I can tell, there still aren't very many people that like Golden.

good show. good times. good fun.

its not a features show without broken guitar strings. i counted 4 this time. its always amusing yet i do feel sorry for the guy when it happens. matt needs a guitar tech.

overall i enjoyed the setlist. a good combination of songs. the encore was quite nice. the outdoor atmosphere was quite different but i enjoyed it.

just glad it didn't rain.
We have about 1500 songs.....all of them good!

I now have a much greater appreciation for Mosis (p)tosis after being able to hear the keyboard parts.

i don't know, dawg, it was just a'ight for me.

but really, it was fun. nice setlist. i'm hoping that the only reason they've not been playing the 3 new songs is because they've been playing to new crowds lately. maybe the songs will return, all rearranged and polished, once they can get themselves back into a local venue.
i do love the family aspect of outdoors shows. i was really holding back by not going and playing with all the kids, as to not freak out their parents. but they were all adorable. mr. fauxpants was pretty charming as well.

I loved the show! I understand not enjoying the outdoor shows as much as the rockin' sweaty crowded indoor shows but regardless it is still always a treat to see the features. Even if I saw them everyday, I still do not think I could think of anything else that I would rather be doing than seeing them.

Everyone is so right, those kids were so cute. I wanted to be Pelham's wife even more after seeing them!

And..Harder to Ignore (despite what some people say) rocks my world. I go crazy when it plays I like it so much!

That's all..but I can't wait to see them again!

Can anyone with kids please write me?

I was at the show last night, and I have a daughter, and I really really want to meet other people with little kids. There was the greatest group of kids who were all wearing converse shoes. If you have a kid, you need to hook it up with me. Period.

i got a horrible sunburn due to being outside DJing/observing all day, but the features made me forget about the burning sensation on my neck, arms, and face for over an hour.

ohmy.gif

also, did anyone else besides havesomesoma and myself notice parrish playing a bit of "definitive gaze" by magazine before the show started?

I thought the show was very nice. Much better than the Belmont show.
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of outside shows, but it was really nice for an outside show.
But what will happen to the boy when the circus comes to town?

i didn't bring the girls to the show out of convenience (it would've been alot easier to have left them at home) or to show off how cute they are (though they are)

i brought them because they love the features. because i overheard olive teaching chloe the lyrics to bumblebee after chloe sang the way it's meant to be to her. and they practiced how they were going to dance at the belmont show and this mtsu show, though chloe decided she was too cool for that when it came time to perform.

i mean, you know they're true fans because olive tried to rush the stage several times and chloe was caught chatting with the drummer during the break. where do they get that stuff from?!?!?!
she's just another ho that i met in the hood
i told her i was crunchy black and it was all good
